Start with the guide

The user guide is the same one bundled in the app — written in ways a player can read, with the engineering kept honest underneath — and it answers most questions:

• Welcome — what PedalScope is and isn't
• Setting up your rig and your first measurement
• Safety: why amplifiers stay out of the loop
• Measuring plugins — drive and amp-sim Audio Units, treated exactly like pedals
• Simulation Mode — no hardware needed
• How the plain-language summaries are built (and labeled)

Common questions

• Which interfaces work? Any class-compliant USB audio interface with a line output and a line/instrument input. See rig setup.
• Can I measure my amp? No — PedalScope does not measure amplifiers, and never connect one's speaker output to an interface. Read this before connecting anything.
• Does it work without any hardware? Yes, two ways — measure an Audio Unit plugin (a drive plugin or amp sim, rendered offline), or Simulation Mode, which measures a virtual drive circuit with the same pipeline.
• Where does my data live? On your Mac, and nowhere else. See privacy.
